What to Expect in Every Class
Small Classes. Hands-On Training. Individual Attention.
Every class begins at 9:00 AM with a meet and greet followed by an introduction to the materials, equipment and workflow being taught.
The instructor performs the technique first so students can see the complete workflow before beginning. Students are welcome to record the demonstration for personal educational reference.
Students then put on PPE and begin working on their own individual case. Erik circulates throughout the laboratory providing one-on-one bench-side instruction, troubleshooting and technique guidance.
At the end of the course, each student's work is evaluated individually. The day concludes with Q&A, feedback, a Certificate of Completion and recommendations for the student's next or more advanced training course.

HANDS-ON COURSE
Each technician will work on an individual Sagemax 4-unit zirconia bridge, professionally
milled and sintered before training.
The course covers bridge evaluation, anatomical contouring, line angles, embrasures, connector
evaluation, margin refinement, surface morphology and texture, MiYO characterization, stain
and glaze application, zirconia polishing, finishing, and final restoration QC.

Course introduction, PPE and safety review, individual Sagemax bridge inspection, and evaluation of each technician’s starting restoration.
9:15–9:45 AM — Sintered Zirconia & Anatomy Fundamentals
Review bridge anatomy, tooth morphology, line angles, embrasures, connectors, margins, and contouring objectives.
9:45–10:30 AM — Instructor Demonstration: Bridge Contouring
Step-by-step demonstration covering bur selection, contouring sequence, anatomical reduction, line angles, embrasures, connector evaluation, and margin refinement.
10:30 AM–12:00 PM — Hands-On Contouring & Margin Refinement
Each technician works on their individual 4-unit Sagemax zirconia bridge with instructor guidance and one-on-one critique.
12:00–12:45 PM — Lunch
12:45–1:15 PM — Instructor Demonstration: Surface Texture & MiYO Characterization
Demonstration of surface morphology, natural texture, characterization, and MiYO application techniques.
1:15–2:30 PM — Hands-On MiYO, Stain & Glaze
Technicians apply characterization, stain, and glaze to their individual restorations with instructor guidance.
2:30–3:00 PM — Instructor Demonstration: Finishing & Polishing
Review zirconia finishing, polishing sequence, surface refinement, and techniques for achieving the appropriate final luster.
3:00–3:40 PM — Hands-On Final Finishing & Polishing
Each technician completes the finishing and polishing of their bridge and prepares it for final evaluation.
3:40–4:00 PM — Final QC, Team Critique & Q&A
Final restoration evaluation covering anatomy, margins, connectors, embrasures, surface texture, characterization, stain and glaze, polish, and overall restoration quality.
Each technician leaves with their completed training bridge, individual bur set, stain & glaze glass mixing plate, PD-TRN-002 Reference Booklet, and training resources. The MiYO Stain & Characterization Kit remains with the laboratory for continued technician practice.

Course Overview
DLT110 is an advanced, two-day hands-on training designed for dental technicians who want to elevate their full-arch zirconia restorations through anatomy, artistry, precision, and repeatable finishing techniques.
The course takes technicians through the full finishing workflow from green-state zirconia contouring and anatomical development to gingival porcelain layering, characterization, stain and glaze, and final intaglio polishing.
Each technique is demonstrated by the instructor first, followed by guided hands-on practice. Students receive individual feedback throughout the course so they can understand not only how to perform each step, but also what to look for when evaluating their own work.
DAY 1 — GREEN-STATE ZIRCONIA CONTOURING & INITIAL PORCELAIN
Morning: Green-State Contouring
- Proper bur and tool selection
- Safe handling of un-sintered zirconia
- Evaluating the full-arch restoration before contouring
- Tooth separation and embrasure development
- Developing natural tooth anatomy and line angles
- Gingival scalloping and transition areas
- Occlusal anatomy and contour refinement

Afternoon: Framework Evaluation & Initial Pink Porcelain
- Evaluating the sintered framework

What You’ll Learn
By the end of this two-day course, technicians will have practiced the complete workflow for refining a full-arch zirconia restoration, including green-state anatomy, tooth separation, gingival contouring, pink porcelain layering, characterization, stain and glaze, surface texture, polishing, intaglio finishing, and final quality control.

Develop tooth anatomy, gingival transitions, embrasures, line angles, occlusal anatomy, and natural surface texture.
2:30–3:30 PM — Final Refinement & Pre-Sinter QC
Evaluate anatomy, symmetry, thickness, surface quality, and overall restoration readiness before sintering.
3:30–4:00 PM — Individual Critique, Troubleshooting & Q&A
Final instructor evaluation of each technician's restoration, workflow recommendations, and team Q&A.
All training materials and course consumables are provided. Each technician works on an individual Sagemax green-state full-arch zirconia restoration during the course.
